The BIG aim behind this little site
is to help you do what you’d love to. You know, that big thing you’ve been wanting to do for years…
I publish a weekly blog that aims to inspire and share some of the best tips and tools I’ve tried and tested over the years. You can sign up for free weekly updates here.
I also offer psychology based coaching for individuals and groups. For the self-motivated out there I write self-coaching workbooks to support you in turning that big thing to reality.
You’re in good hands
I’m fascinated about how our minds work and I’ve spent four years studying this in some detail. The effort has resulted in a Master’s degree in Organisational psychology and I’ve been practicing as a psychologist since 2002. (That’s a lot of practice!)
When I worked for the BBC I was accepted on their award winning coaching programme and that’s where my big love affair with coaching started. Since then I’ve coached hundreds of people from all over the world in places like Japan, Malaysia, Dubai, the United States, the UK and various other parts of Europe. My clients have included large companies such as Unilever, Cadbury’s, Disney, BT, O2, Natwest, and RBS amongst others.
I coach because it leaves me with a spring in my step and a louder beat in my heart. I get immense joy from helping people achieve what they want in life and this comes across in my style of coaching. I’ve been described as warm, non-judgmental and very enthusiastic, which is pretty accurate.
The bit about me
I’m originally from Malta although I’ve lived in London for the past decade. I perpetuate the passionate Mediterranean stereotype. I talk with my hands and am rubbish at hiding my feelings.
I am madly, deeply in love with Asia. I love the sense of freedom I get when I’m here. I’m always impressed by the chaotic way in which things fall into place and I find the food sublime. My most recent ‘big thing’ was to travel for a year around Asia which is what I’m currently doing with my hubby-to-be and where the idea for the 1 big thing was born.
I can remember what I ate in most restaurants just like some people can remember football scores from yonks ago. I love anything to do with food and I’m sure there will be a food-related project somewhere down the road.
I strongly believe in actively living life, rather than letting it happen to us. I was convinced when I went for my first ‘big thing’ at 21. I left my family and friends in Malta, took a £15000 loan and moved to London to study for my Masters. I’d never felt more scared, or more alive! Over a decade later, the scariest thing I find about taking that huge risk is that I nearly didn’t take it at all.
I’m prone to bouts of self-doubt, lack of confidence and insecurity, I break my new year’s resolutions, postpone things and eat way too much chocolate. The years I’ve spent practicing psychology and coaching however, have helped me discover ways in which we can manage our thoughts and actions so that they work for us, rather than against us. When it comes to those important things, I know exactly what will help me get there. If you’re interested, I can help you find out too.
